CHLOE JACOBSON
Chloe Jacobson is an independent artist from Kansas City, MO. A childhood interest in poetry matured into years of writing and playing music by her early 20’s. She began performing live at diy bookings in Kansas City in 2015.
She has released three albums across two different projects. Her debut album “Frozen Fruit” in 2017, was made partially with production and engineering contributions from Daniel Gum. In 2020 she released the self titled “Silver Girl” from her collaboration with producer Jared Logan. The making of her latest release in March '24, titled “A Snowball’s Chance in Hell” persevered over the course of two years. On what was supposed to be the final day of tracking in May '22, Jacobson was struck and thrown by a reckless driver.
The nature of the record changed in the following year as she endured the rehabilitation of a traumatic brain injury and fractured lower spine. Many tracks were re-recorded and she and Gum worked mostly remotely. The March ‘24 release is a deeply personal exploration of heartache. Confounding and lilting questions remain unanswered but are allowed to sit in perspective. Jacobson’s work is influenced by her musical heroes John Cale and the Velvet Underground, Leonard Cohen, Suzanne Vega, Connie Converse, George Harrison, Big Star, Martin Rev and Bruce Springsteen.
