INTERNSHIP POSITIONS

Howdy! We’re opening four Internship positions at Manor Records for Winter/Spring 2022.

The positions revolve around day-to-day label operations: Booking, Graphic Design, Social Media, and Press. Based in the Strawberry Hill neighborhood of Kansas City, KS, we’re looking for locally based interns available for in-person meetings and guidance.

These internships will assist Manor Records in daily tasks in addition to experiencing the inner workings of a non-profit record label. We’re a small, hardworking team focused on building an art-based community striving for inclusion, diversity, and making sure local music gets heard. We’re looking for individuals who are passionate about music and are interested in developing their skills within the music industry. Additionally, we’re looking for multifaceted, motivated, self-starters that want to immerse themselves in the local music scene. The optimal candidate should be excited to learn, collaborate, and get 2 the gig.

The descriptions for each position are listed below —

BOOKING INTERN

  • Managing Manor Band booking schedules

  • Creating info advance sheets for Manor events

  • Booking weekly Songbird Sessions

  • Updating our “events” page

GRAPHIC DESIGN INTERN

  • Creating flier art for manor records events

  • Cassette designing and layout

  • Website updating and design

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

  • Helping manage social media posts

  • Cultivating creative and engaging content

  • Organizing monthly post calendar

PRESS INTERN

  • Learning how to manage press releases and release calendars

  • Writing EPKs and updating artists band pages

  • Creating press blast email templates

Applicants should be familiar with and able to work and collaborate in online communication applications and software like Dropbox, Slack, and G Suite. For the Design Internship, proficiency with Adobe Suite software like Photoshop or Illustrator is recommended. We want you to lean into what you’re excited about and provide an opportunity for you to implement and grow your expertise. Finally, a familiarity and excitement for our label roster is always crucial for enjoying the work you will be engaging in.

Additional Internship Details:

  • College credit accommodations.

  • Occasional free merchandise and show opportunities

  • We are flexible on schedule and hours, but it is expected that you would be available 10 hours a week sometime between 8am and 5pm.
