Mild Cats - “Keep The Cat Out Of The Fire”

Self-released by Mild Cats (digital) August 28th, 2019.

“Mild Cats crossed my radar at the beginning of the year because of their great name that I instantly fell in love with. That alone led me to an absolute ripper of a set they played back in February at minibar and there I fell in love with their sound. I saw them twice more during the shortest month of the year (but an admittedly brutal one). Their brand of high energy, pop-infused rock helped to shake off the dregs of winter. And though they bring such a warm vibe, you can hear a tinge of melancholy brewing underneath recently rereleased (and newly remastered) single “Keep The Cat Out of the Fire.” Part of it’s the tremendous violin balancing the rambunctious drums and glistening guitar. Part of it’s Patrick Keizer’s sweet falsetto in the verse. And then it’s a band firing on all cylinders. Bringing a little light in the darkness. I love Mild Cats. And for more than just the name.
