“If you’re looking for a friend, you’ll find it in Chloe Jacobson’s new single “Nice 2 Meet U”. You had a long day at work so you stop in just for a drink. Just for a drink. The sound of the cold ice in your empty glass makes you long to feel full. They bring you another. They seem blue. Consoling guitar visits you both there alone together. You nudge yourself to talk. With them. You say, “If you’re lonely, I’ll be lonely too.” A loving choir of harmonies lets them know they aren’t the only one here. “It’ll be like I’m right next to you.” Encouraging drums whisper “Just like that, it’s easy.” Short strums snap you out of your daydream and you look at your watch. “I should've seen myself out about an hour ago.” But you stay, longing to know them. Devoted instrumentation befriends sensitive vocals as you picture yourself embraced in their life. “I’m ready baby, I can make it happen.” You look up from your drink. But do you really want to know them? Or just take comfort in the possibility of them? “Don’t tell me your name just yet, I want to imagine it.” You leave without saying goodbye.
