Matt Brown's Quarantine Bar :: Drugs & Attics - "Clean Their Room"

Welcome in and have a seat! You are now entering the virtual bar of our good friend Matt Brown. Matt is usually slinging drinks down at one of our favorite bars, Voltaire. But like most of us, he is at home during the quarantine on lockdown. So, he wanted to help bring the bar atmosphere to your home with giving us his recommendation on local albums to listen to and cocktails that pair well with the vibe of the record!

NOW PLAYING :: Drugs & Attics - “Clean Their Room” (High Dive Records - 2019)

ON THE MENU :: From the moment Drugs & Attics "Clean Their Room" starts, we know that this is not going to be a sophisticated exploration of musical composition, and that is okay. Not every album needs to break boundaries, and move musical milestones to be appreciated. Sometimes, we just have to lean into the riffy guitars, gravely voices, punishing snare cracks, and booming bass parts with the idea that we are about to party; especially if we are drinking along with them.

For this album, we don't need to recreate the wheel, by riffing off a Boulvardia, or a Last Word. This albums begs us to down a shot of cheap rye whiskey, preferably Old Overholt, then chase it by chugging a yard beer. I like Old Milwaukee for this one, but Hamms will work just as well. We should cap this off by smoking Grandpa's pack of Bronson's in the basement and dancing in our underwear, because why keep your inhibitions while we drunkenly clean our room? Cheers.
