SINGLE REVIEW :: Lava Dreams - "Good Energy"
“Yay! Lava Dreams is back with another single! “Good Energy” is everything I wanted right now. It’s something I can dance to with a glass of sangria alone in my apartment. It’s flexible enough to be played in a park or on a drive, but also while stuck inside while it’s raining. It’s warm, it’s orange, it's gentle, it’s energetic, it’s just everything Lava Dreams does right. The song abruptly begins with a strong plucky beat, soon layered with snapping fingers, which tickled the back of my neck. The rhythm then blooms into waves of a warm floral melody supported by her effortless voice which reminds us the most important thing is to maintain our own sense of positivity and appreciation for the world. This song manages to bring its own “good energy” into the room to reverberate off the walls into something tangible, something fresh. It’s a refusal to let others mess with your vibe and a statement of intention to seek out others who also have a good energy. With strong influences of R&B, this boppin’ track is another success, and sure to be something I’ll have on repeat all summer long!”
