“Dogjoy, the solo project of Katherine from Florida band Pleasures, is debuting with their first single, “Feed Me Poison''. Packed with dizzying synth and channeling an early Crystal Castles vibe, this track is a promising start! Beginning with a techno-inspired beat, the song starts off with almost unintelligible ramblings before she dives right into it. The funky electronic music dances circles around us while we’re being hypnotized by her staticky voice and dark lyricism. “Like me better, feed me poison” the chorus repeats as we dance along in our at-home rave. Perfect for the sewer party scene from Skins UK, this piece is danceable and recognizable as an ode to electronic music before we started using the phrase “EDM”. With more good things hopefully on their way, Dogjoy is definitely a project to keep an eye on!”
