“I find myself confronting winter blues in two ways: overwhelming lethargy where I can’t seem to comprehend the short days and bitter freeze of the Midwest or a full embrace of melancholy, where I have to fill the space around me with art that seems to fit that exact mood. Case in point, the stunning single “Honey Touch" from Tulsa based Charlotte Bumgarner.

The singer/songwriter lets her guitar and vocals fill a vast tundra. It’s a quiet approach but cuts to the core with her delivery. And the harmonies when she sings “and I knew you would” (tremendously sustained) will melt any frozen feelings. Forlorn and frank, it’s a balm for bleak days.”
