Ross Brown & Ryan James Carr (aka Snacky) absolutely vibe out on their latest release Vol 2, the duo’s instrumental project. Fun, energetic, and shimmering with synth, the pulsing percussion presses every track higher and higher. At times it feels like it’s providing the beat for a dancefloor (“Idea Plant") or soundtracking an 8-bit adventure (“Level 3”). A refreshingly laid-back buzz coating the whole thing; a playful, yet tight delivery that seems to radiate warmth. Even the track titles get silly with “I’m Not Your Dad, Dad” and “Peanut Butter Space Station.”
A collection as sweet as its album cover.
