Sweet electro-percussion pulses breathe life into Bream’s self-titled EP taking you to the heart of 80's new wave. Fit for a walkman, the two-track release nails the era’s quintessential propensity for happy-sad songs --  the kind that you can dance and die to.

Epitomizing a day-in-the-life of Midwestern youth with dark twists, “Crying, the Beginning” is paired with upbeat syncopated snare hits, shimmering guitar strums with a touch of jangle, and a catchy melody. Accepting the bad and dancing through it anyways, deep nonchalant vocals carry weight as they sing “We’re killin’ time, time’s killin’ us.”

Utilizing musical space, “Used to It” takes time building through low synth tones to a central theme: “None of this is without consequence.” Creating room for vocals to come to the front, the composition has both moments where it thins and pulls you in to listen closer and moments where it swells into matter-of-fact instrumentation full of emotion.

Exceptionally 80’s new wave, Bream’s self-titled two-track EP draws you into its dark danceability, making you happy to be sad.
